Let's do laundry with Seventh Generation Smart Energy
Nov. 23, 2015
With a family or messy, dirty boys, laundry can be quite a task. I have been making the process to decrease the amount of chemicals and toxic products in my house. So cool that I received Seventh Generation Energy Smart laundry detergent for free for review purposes from Smiley360. Even though I did receive the product for free, all opinions are my own.
About a year ago I got a High Efficieny clothes washer in my efforts to use less water and use less detergent to clean my clothes. I haven't done a hard comparison but I feel that I am using less detergent and definitely using less water to wash my clothes. My clothes aren't getting as worn and as damaged as much as they were with the agitator in traditional washing machines.
The Seventh Generation Energy Smart laundry detergent is made for High Efficieny clothes washing machines. The Seventh Generation Energy Smart laundry detergent promises to give the same performanace in cold and warm water saving you $17 per year. Here is an interesting fact that I read on the bottle:
If every household in the U.S. replaced just one bottle of 95oz petroleum-based laundry liquid with our 95oz plant-based product, we could save 304,830 barrels of oil. That's enough to heat and cool 17,500 U.S. homes for a year. That information alone is a reason for me to make the switch. In addition to being frugal, is it important to me to earth conscience with recycling and decreasing my carbon foot print.
You can see that the liquid is clear. The bottle states that it is non-toxic and contains no dyes or synthetic fragrances. Seventh Generation uses essential oils and botanical extracts. The detergent has a citrus smell that I really enjoyed. It wasn't over powering but it was a nice clean scent. My clothes came out clean and I am happy with the results.
I am so glad that I tried Seventh Generation Energy Smart laundry detergent. Although my kids missed the fragrance of our other detergent, I will be making this my new laundry detergent for the money savings and the reduction of toxic chemicals in my house. I would recommend this to my family, friends, and complete strangers.
