Pencoyd/Freight House Pedestrian Bridge Kansas City
Jul. 24, 2014
Last Thursday we decided to have an inexpensive family fun day before school begins. Since our boys love trains, we usually drive by train tracks all of the time in hopes of catching a train. In January 2006, the Pencoyd Railroad Bridge was relocated to connect Union Station and the Crossroads Art District. Last Thursday, our boys got to see trains from a whole different level as we explored the Pencoyd/Freight House Pedestrian Bridge.
We brought our lunch with us saving us money. And then we explored the bridge. We patiently waited with excitement and our first train soon went under the bridge.
Let's just say that the boys were mesmerized at being so close to the train. Luckily, we could see the train signals and kept an eye on them in anticipation of another train. And to our delight we got two trains going in different directions at the same time.
We then grabbed some old fashioned milkshakes at Winstead's restaurant. And then went to the pet store to look at the cute puppies. Although we are not buying a dog, it is fun to watch puppies. And watching the puppies is free. So had a fun family day without spending a lot of money.
Do you have ideas to have fun without spending a lot of money?
